The year of 2022 has been passed with many memorable moments left behind. The most striking news was COVID-19 pandemic has diminished and we live together with COVID. All the countries in the world are opening their doors again and we can get together for sharing academic experiences, surgical techniques and treatment strategies face-to-face. We all Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society (KSES) members are also preparing for 30th Annual International Congress of the KSES on March 31st – April 1st, 2023 in Seoul.

As I wrote this essay, I could recall my tense pressure on the airplane departing from Incheon airport to Dubai and Dublin in early September.
I was elected in the winter of 2018. Because of COVID-19, this program was postponed. As the pandemic gradually stabilized worldwide, discussions on specific schedules and visiting hospitals began in early 2022.

The 2022 30th Autumn Congress of the Korean shoulder and elbow society was held in Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) conference Hall 1. Now ending its third year, the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted all academic conferences from fully held. Fortunately, at the end of September of this year, outdoor mask mandate is fully lifted and we begin to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow (CiSE) is preparing for remarkable progress.
-
The academic official journal of Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society (KSES), CiSE had remarkable progress in recent years. CiSE was confirmed to be listed on PMC in December 2020. The number of annual citations increased by about four times. Among the editorial staff of CISE, 61.7% are composed of internationally renowned researchers, and half of the papers submitted to CiSE are papers by foreign authors, not domestic ones. CiSE will soon challenge SCOPUS to be listed, and is preparing a long-term vision to compete with world-class overseas academic journals. We would appreciate the interest of shoulder and elbow surgeons from all around the world as great papers on various topics. CiSE awaits your remarkable research. Please introduce your outstanding research through CiSE.
