The 31th Autumn Congress of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society in Jeju

The 31st Autumn Congress of the Korean shoulder and elbow society was specially held on Jeju, known as Korea's most beatiful island. The conference concluded successfully at the Conference Hall of the Ramada Jeju Hamdeok Hotel. Following the 13th International Congress on Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (ICSES) held in Jeju in 2016, this gathering provided KSES members with another opportunity for academic discussions and exchanges to come together in Jeju.
 

 
Particularly noteworthy were the workshop programs on the navigation systems of shoulder arthroplasty and the advanced ultrasound technique of the shoulder joint. These sessions provided valuable opportunities for direct observation and hands-on experiences for our members. As a special overseas guest speaker, we were honored to have Dr. Tomoyuki Mochizuki from Tokyo Kita Medical Center. He shared insights on “the strategy for total shoulder arthroplasty using stemless implants and metal-back glenoids” along with “tips and pitfalls of the open Latarjet procedure accompanied by arthroscopic Bankart repair”, offering the audience a chance to learn about the latest developments in arthroplasty and instability shoulder surgery.
Additionally, we organized special sessions for practitioners, featuring lectures on handling outpatient-based patients, sharing personal insights and tips and learning medical fees. The inclusion of surgical video sessions by renowned domestic experts added a practical dimension to the academic discussions, making the conference even more rewarding and satisfying for all participants.
 
 
The program of this conference was filled with a diverse array of fascinating topics. The lectures went beyond a simple one-way format, incorporating substantial clinical experiences and debates on controversial subjects. The sessions included practical discussions on the latest insights into contentious issues, panel discussions between experienced professors and young members, and case reports that provided valuable insights into challenging diagnoses when dealing with patients.
 
 
The program not only showcased the expertise of seasoned professionals but also fostered meaningful discussions and exchanges between generations, creating a dynamic and enriching environment for all participants. In preparing for this conference, the academic passion and dedicated efforts of the members from the Honam-Jeju branch served as a significant keystone for this conference. It was a beautiful occasion where members came together in a picturesque setting to share experiences and new knowledge. Cherishing this experience, I sincerely hope that each region's unique autumn shoulder and elbow joint conferences will continue with the development. Thank you very much.
