Greeting from the president of KSES More
Dear Respected Colleagues and Friends,
I'm Hyun Seok Song, the 33rd President of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society.
The Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society will hold an international congress in March 27-28th, 2026. Our slogan is “Together, we can go further”. Our society members, along with many friends from around the world, will gather to share knowledge and exchange ideas on the shoulder and elbow.
We successfully hosted the International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Jeju in 2016. Since 2020, it has been held as an international meeting, and each year many surgeons from various countries have joined us. They come as visitors at the beginning of the congress, but by the end, they have become close friends of our society.
Hyun Seok Song
The 33rd President of KSES

Participation in the 2025 KSES – SECEC Exchange Travelling Fellowship Program
Participation in the 2025 KSES – ASES Exchange Travelling Fellowship Program More
Only two days after returning from a month-long journey that felt neither short nor long, I find myself compelled to record my reflections. First of all, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the President, officers, and members of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society (KSES) for selecting me as a traveling fellow. From September 16 to October 18, 2023, together with Dr. Yoon-Sang Jeon (Inha University Hospital), I had the privilege of visiting several distinguished institutions recommended by the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) and participating in a variety of educational programs.

Participation in the Taiwan Orthopedic Association 2025 More
On October 23, 2025, I departed from Incheon and arrived at Taoyuan International Airport in Taipei after a flight of just over two hours. The autumn rain, which fell longer than usual, gave the city a clean and calm atmosphere.

The 88th Annual Meeting of the Taiwan Orthopedic Association (TOA) was held at the Marriott Hotel Taipei, located in the northern part of the city and near the National Palace Museum. The main program took place on October 25–26, with two floors dedicated to pre-congress sessions on October 24.

Report on the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Shoulder Society (JSS 2025) More
The early autumn air in Fukuoka carried a gentle warmth as I arrived in Fukuoka. The 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japan Shoulder Society (JSS) was held from October 10 (Friday) to 11 (Saturday), 2025, at the Fukuoka Convention Center. Under the leadership of Professor Teruaki Izaki of Fukuoka University Chikushi Hospital, the meeting embraced the theme of “Precision & Functional Restoration”, a phrase that set the tone for two days of remarkably focused and thoughtful scientific exchange.

A Nordic Adventure to SECEC 2025: A Journey of Shoulder Surgeons, Fjords, and Unforgettable Memories More
When the 2025 SECEC Congress announced Rotterdam as its host city, many Korean shoulder and elbow surgeons felt both excitement and a sense of adventurous anticipation. Rotterdam, with its modern architecture and vibrant cultural scene, is very different from the more familiar European destinations often chosen for conferences. After months of light-hearted discussion and planning—and with the support of President Hyun-Seok Song and Secretary General Yong-Beom Lee—the travel committee reached a creative conclusion: if the meeting takes us to a dynamic, contemporary city like Rotterdam, why not build an equally memorable journey around it?
And so the idea was born—a Scandinavian tour, highlighted by the breathtaking fjords of Norway.
