The Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow recently achieved two significant milestones. First, in June of last year, CiSE was recognized in the Emerging Science Citation Index (ESCI), a prestigious listing that marks a crucial step towards full inclusion in the Science Citation Index (SCI). Additionally, our editorial board is delighted to share that CiSE was indexed in Scopus this past March, marking another important achievement in our journey to distinction.
These recognitions underscore our commitment to advancing scholarly discourse and facilitating groundbreaking research in shoulder and elbow surgery. They are a testament to the dedication of our editorial board, past and present, whose tireless efforts have propelled CiSE to new heights.
From 2018 to 2023, CiSE's annual citation count soared remarkably, increasing 14.8 times from 27 to 399. This growth reflects a diverse authorship, with 24.2% domestic and 75.7% international publications in 2023. Over the past two years, CiSE has also seen a substantial drop in its acceptance rate from 67.3% to 39.4%, indicative of its enhanced quality. The journal's impact factor is tentatively estimated to be close to 2.0, highlighting its rapid growth in the shoulder and elbow field.
We owe this success to the invaluable contributions of our authors, who have enriched our pages and driven the field forward through their pioneering research. With its indexing in both Clarivate Analytics' Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) and Scopus, CiSE has solidified its position as a pivotal player in global scholarly publishing, amplifying the reach and impact of our research.
Furthermore, affiliations with the Malaysian Arthroscopy Society (MAS), the Thai Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (TOSSM), and the Indonesian Orthopedic Society for Sport Medicine and Arthroscopy (IOSSMA) have boosted CiSE's international standing. To achieve our goal of full SCI inclusion, CiSE is expanding the quality and quantity of its content, transitioning from a quarterly to a bimonthly publication schedule. The KSES community is encouraged to actively support and take pride in CiSE's ongoing development, engaging with its wide range of insightful articles.
As we celebrate these momentous occasions, we invite you to join us in recognizing our collective achievements and reaffirming our commitment to distinction. Let us continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and shape the future of shoulder and elbow surgery through CiSE.
Thank you for your continued support!
