Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow (CiSE) – Shaping the Future of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Worldwide

 

Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow (CiSE) is an international journal indexed in both eSCI and Scopus, dedicated to advancing excellence and innovation in shoulder and elbow research. Through global collaboration, rigorous peer review, and a commitment to academic integrity, CiSE continues to solidify its standing in the orthopedic community. Over the past five years, CiSE has experienced a remarkable tenfold increase in citations, from just 56 in 2020 to 565 in 2024, demonstrating the growing influence and academic relevance of its publications. In 2024, the journal recorded an Impact Factor of 1.39, reflecting its strong visibility and contribution to the field.

The journal's international reach has also expanded significantly. While international authors accounted for 53% of published articles in 2021, that number rose to 71% by 2024, confirming CiSE’s reputation as a truly global platform for cutting-edge research in shoulder and elbow surgery. At the same time, CiSE has continued to strengthen its editorial standards through a more selective peer review process. The acceptance rate has been purposefully refined, dropping from 67.3% in 2021 to 38.8% in 2023, and further down to 28.6% in 2024, approaching the editorial goal of maintaining a 25% acceptance rate.

In support of its global mission, CiSE is proudly affiliated with the Malaysian Arthroscopy Society (MAS) since May 2023, the Thai Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (TOSSM) since March 2024, and the Indonesian Orthopedic Society for Sport Medicine and Arthroscopy (IOSSMA) since April 2024. These partnerships further strengthen CiSE's regional and international networks, fostering cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange.

With its steady growth in impact, increasing international submissions, strategic global affiliations, and commitment to quality, CiSE is positioned to become one of the leading voices in orthopedic surgery worldwide.
